Mother Earth is a blog that seeks to coordinate the various initiatives that are being developed to achieve a life in harmony with nature from a scientific, cultural, political, legal and civil society perspective.
Humans are causing abrupt changes that will have severe consequences for the entire Earth and its inhabitants. The effects are not limited to climate change but to a set of areas that allow us to assert that this is a Global Change. The last 50 years have been, according to several scientific studies, of the “most rapid transformation of the human relationship with the natural world in the history of mankind.”
In “Mother Earth” we want to discuss and share proposing concrete actions that from different areas contribute to bring back a life in balance with the Earth System.
The GLOBAL REFERENDUM was discussed inside the European Parliament last week, combined with a screening of the film WORLD VOTE NOW.

i would like 2 b in some kind of effort where people in industrialized nations learn how 2 build their own homes as opposed 2 buying them wholesale, which of course, uses up more land & wastes more resources, & ruins economies….there’s gotta b a way2 have a green housing movement where people owns their homes outright because they build themselves, with no need of sub-prime mortgages, or credit default swaps.

The salvation of civilisation from its own negative behaviour will not be possible unless it is underpinned by an attitude shift in the consequential majority of the global population. This in turn requires effective education of the people regarding the true state of the human/planet relationship…education that must take place across the demographic spectrum, not just in classrooms. Getting the attention of the general public against the background noise and spin of the current media is a challenge.
